Singaporean artist Ng Joon Kiat holds a Masters of Art (Fine Art) from the University of Kent (U.K), a Bachelor of Arts from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and a Diploma in Visual Art (Painting) from Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts. He is currently practicing as a visual artist in Singapore, and is a part-time lecturer at the Nanyang Technological University's School of Art Design and Media.

Joon Kiat has been a recipient of various awards and scholarships. In 2001, Joon Kiat received the Shell-NAC scholarship , the most prestigious scholarship awarded by the National Arts Council. He is also the recipient of the Ericsson Scholarship, Georgette Chen Scholarship, and SIA Excellence in the Arts - an award recognising his outstanding performance and contribution to the Singapore arts scene. In 2000, he clinched the Nokia Art Award and went on to represent Singapore in the Asia-Pacific Nokia Art Competition in Seoul. In 2007, he became the youngest artist to have his solo exhibition presented by the National Museum of Singapore over the period of March to May.

Joon Kiat has exhibited extensively across the U.K, Brazil, France, and Asia Pacific region. He has shown in galleries such as Argayle Gallery (Sydney, Australia), INSA Art Center (Seoul, Korea), Cultural Center of the Philippines (Manila), Mercury Gallery Bangkok (Thailand) and Galeri Nasional, Medan Merdeka (Jakarta, Indonesia). His works have been widely collected by private collectors in Singapore, Australia, France and the U.K.
