TAKSU Singapore, 14 January – 4 February 2012

TAKSU Singapore kick-starts the new year with Nasi Campur – an eclectic mix of works by 22 local, regional, and international artists.

Adopting the name of the traditional staple meal of Southeast Asia, Nasi Campur puts together the freshest mix of works in one plate. Nasi campur (‘mixed rice’ in Indonesian) is as diverse as the archipelago, with regional variations across the country. A nasi campur counter offers up to lots of different selection dishes, usually a blend between the local favorites and delicacies from the region. Since its first debut in TAKSU KL in year 2005, Nasi Campur has become a signature annual exhibition in each of TAKSU’s three galleries. Offering a glimpse of TAKSU’s careful selection of works, Nasi Campur is a platform where artists of diverse origins meet: established and up-and-coming, painter, sculptor, photographer, mixed media artists, local, regional, international – all in one plate.

Nasi Campur features works by: Agus Sumiantara (Indonesia), Bobby Nuestro (Philippines / USA), Budi Agung Kuswara (Indonesia), Choi Jongwoon (South Korea), Fauzulyusri (Malaysia), Frayn Yong (Singapore), Gerardo Tan (Philippines), Hirzaq Harris (Malaysia), Jan Wisse (Netherlands), Joe Fleming (Canada), Jumaadi (Indonesia/Australia), Kang Dong-Gu (South Korea), Koh San Keum (Korea), Lai Ngan Corio (Malaysia /UK), Najib Ahmad (Malaysia), Oh Sang-Taek (South Korea), Pow Martinez (Philippines), Sabri Idrus (Malaysia).
